One of the biggest dreams for most crossdressers is to achieve a sexy look for their legs. Hiding their muscle lines and imperfections to make them look slenderer and more feminine as fast as possible is the main goal. To help you with that, I wrote this article here , with an in-depth tutorial on this subject.
Well, the easiest and fastest way for you to achieve sexy looking legs, involves the use of pantyhose to conceal the imperfections in the area. It makes them look way more slender than usual, by highlighting their silhouette. Silicone hip pads also play a part in enhancing its curves, giving them a more feminine shape.
With that in mind, I want to help you understand what kind of pantyhose is ideal for your particular situation. That’s because different types have different advantages, serving a wide range of purposes.
1. Why pantyhose?
The first thing you need to figure out is that there are plenty of differences between male and female legs. One of the most noticeable being, of course, their textures and shapes. Women’s legs tend to be more angled above the knees, contributing to their curviness. Female bodies also have a subcutaneous layer of fat that conceals their veins, creating a smoother and slender look on the surface. We can see an example of such differences on the following diagram:
Well, let me add that the biggest benefit of a pantyhose is that it helps you to reduce the most visible differences between male and female pairs of legs. The result is that they will look as slender and smooth as you’d expect. But remember female legs are generally smaller than the average male leg. This means that you’ll need to find out your size and order the stockings according to your body type to make sure they fit. Hosiery brands in general tend to include size charts on their packages. But if you ever feel in doubt about two sizes, choose the largest one, as it will be the most comfortable for you to wear. Here is an example chart for you to have a better idea:
If you happen to be on the larger size of the chart, make sure you go to a store that sells plus-size outfits in general. In places like those, you can find pantyhose in the proper size. If there aren’t any specialized stores nearby, or if you are uncomfortable buying it yourself, shopping online is a great strategy. This way, I’m sure you’ll find one that fits you and receive it in your home.
2. How to choose a pantyhose?
After you know which size of hosiery is ideal for your legs, you might still be surrounded by a lot of options. Different types of colors, materials and other aspects of the pantyhose make it hard to choose one. Because of that, I’ll talk about the advantages of each aspect to help you decide.
First of all: The color! Different colors of pantyhose are associated with a wide range of different ideas and feelings. They present different advantages as well. Here I’ll show you some of them:
For example, a white-colored pantyhose will send an idea of youth and girliness. However, it might not be too easy to clean and will have a very limited effect on feminizing the shape of your legs.
The gray-colored hoses, on the other hand, will send an idea of both maturity and generosity. They might smoothen your legs better than the white ones.
Then we have the black pantyhose, which I consider to be my favorite. They are very effective in feminizing your legs, creating a smoother surface while slimming. They can also conceal both your body hair and some imperfections.
However, if your goal is to achieve a more seamless and “exposed” look, I would recommend a skin-toned pantyhose. They are still useful to highlight your legs, making them appear more slender and curvier. But they are not as effective as the others in concealing imperfections.
The thickness of your pantyhose is also an important aspect to keep in mind. It defines how strong and durable it will be, as well as how effective in hiding your muscles and veins. The thicker it is, the smoother your legs will look when you put them on, and the less visible your skin will be. The unity used to determine the thickness of pantyhose is the “Denier” standard, which we will be referring to as “D” from now on
Each “D” represents how much 9,000 meters of yarn weighs in grams. For example, if 9,000 meters of the yarn used to make a pantyhose weighs 15 grams, said pantyhose would be classified as 15D and so on. It sounds weird, but this method of measurement comes from medieval France, and it’s easier to understand if we put things this way:
The usual denier range goes from 10D to 100D, in which 10D – 20D are considered extra thin or sheer. These are basically see-through, showing a lot of skin and slightly smoothening your legs. I don’t recommend these too much for crossdressing.
21D – 40D are Semi-Opaque, providing more coverage but still allowing your skin to appear a bit through it. I recommend these for crossdressers with more androgynous legs.
The opaque range goes from 41D to 69D, and they are ideal for colder days in which you’ll need more protection and warmth.
The more well-defined look, with a great coverage and outline, is what crossdressers are generally looking for. It’s more evident in the super opaque (70D – 99D) and blackout (100+D) categories.
The material of which your pantyhose is made, also impacts in its quality, durability and comfort. The most common material is, of course, nylon. It’s durable and stretchable to some degree, but not as comfortable as Velvet and Lycra.
Velvet is another possible material for general hosiery. It’s soft and very warm but has a limited outlining effect. It also suffers from a lack of durability and stretch ability, but it’s useful for elaborate outfits and formal occasions.
Lycra is a synthetic fiber, and one of the most stretchable fabrics you can find. The Spandex used in its composition is a very stretchable polyurethane fabric, in a way that increases the stretch ability of the yarn.
Last but not least, we should talk about hosiery that is designed for specific purposes and occasions. I’m sure one of these might suit your needs:
First, we have “body type” or “control top” pantyhose, which are designed around the idea of shaping your body in a sexier approach. It usually includes a top part made of nylon to help reduce your waist, making it ideal for crossdressers to combine them with corsets or waist cinchers. It’s also very suitable for you to use in daily life or business functions in general. I love them, because they help me a lot in reducing my waist.
On the other hand, we have fishnet tights, which are quite effective in shaping your legs. They are very fashionable and in touch with younger people, but they have a little downside: they don’t conceal your veins or body hair too well, nor they protect you from the cold, which makes them more suitable for warmer weather. When I want to go out, I generally use them as a “second layer”. It basically means that I use them with a Thick skin-toned pantyhose underneath.
3. How do you make legs look sexy?
Well, after you decide exactly which pantyhose better suits you and fits your needs, let’s talk about how to wear them and make your legs look sexy!
First of all, I would like to recommend that you shave your legs. It’s not mandatory, but the improvement is instantly noticeable. This allows you to use sheer pantyhose, increasing your comfort especially during summer. If you do so while using moisturizing creams, the smoothness of your legs will increase as well. They might appear much more feminine, and the pantyhose should slip in easier.
After that, make sure to trim your toenails, or even sand them if possible. This way you will avoid damaging your pantyhose. Well, now it’s time to start putting them on.
1. To make things easier, start by gathering one of the legs by rolling it all the way down to the toe part. After that, put your toes in it and slip your foot inside.
2. Now, you’ll want to gently pull the fabric all the way up to your calf.
3. Repeat it for the other leg
4. To finish the process, pull the extra fabric up to your waist
If you feel that one layer of pantyhose won’t be enough to cover your leg flaws, try wearing two layers. Getting a thicker one with a higher denier number might also help to make it appear smoother. It’s also worth noting that, to make a newly bought pantyhose stronger, you can put them in the freezer for a day or two before you remove them from the package.
Well, after wearing your shapewear properly, you should also consider a pair of silicone hip pads. I highly recommend them, as they can greatly improve your look!
They make your legs appear curvier and more feminine, filling up and feminizing your crotch. It also smoothens the transition between your hips and your legs. As a result, your figure will resemble an hourglass, such as the average female body. To wear them, start putting on your pantyhose and carefully slide the pads into your hips before you pull the stockings up to your waist.
Here are wearing steps:
So, as we’ve seen, pantyhose have a great effect in feminizing your legs! Different kinds of stockings attend different needs, suiting a wide range of styles and body types. We can also go a step further by shaving and applying certain types of shapewear, such as hip pads.
In conclusion, even if our legs are far away from resembling an idealized feminine pair of smooth and curvy legs, we can still adapt our outfits. We can basically transform our legs by choosing the right type of hosiery. All we need to do is to conceal the visible differences that make them be perceived as “masculine”.
